Boating Permits - Longview Lake
FYI: If you are interested in exploring some of the local lakes, make sure you are aware of the boating permit requirements. I went to Longview Lake last week and had a close call. Fortunately, I was able to move along before the park officer was able to get to me. I checked and Jackson County's annual boating permits are $42.00 for nonresidents. The expense puts a damper on exploring new lakes in the area.

Hello there Mr. Oakleaf and fellow Snipe Sailor!
My name is Steve Pipia and I recently purchased a 1975? Snipe and have not found any info on this year of Snipe online or otherwise. I just purchased this boat two days ago after finishing sailing classes through Johnson County sailing club this summer. Everything seems complete (albeit antiquated ) and functional. Any pointers would help and are greatly appreciated!
Oh, and the slots on the port and starboard part of the deck are supposed to have a block in each? Mine doesn't, but I was told it wasn't an issue....
